Design educator Ellen Lupton’s Design Culture Now poster project has become a right of passage for the graphic designer in training, having been adopted into many graphic design curricula. The challenge is to create a compelling typographic poster referencing the state of contemporary design. I used this project as an opportunity to stretch my conceptual muscles, using type as visual noise in order to convey the competition and oversaturation of contemporary visual communication.
