Newberry Honey

In-House | Packaging

During the summer of 2016, architectural salvage warehouse ReUse Depot hosted the beehives of independent beekeeper Newberry Farms at its West Chicagoland location. When it was time to bottle and sell the honey, the challenge was to create packaging that would feel as special as the pure artisan honey on the inside.

The final design for the label is inspired by contemporary vintage-style wine packaging. Similar to wine packaging, it references the location of the hives, which is closely tied to the type and taste of the honey produced by the bees. I created the design using company-provided logos and hand-painted the illustration in Adobe Photoshop. The packaging was extremely effective, and the honey completely sold out within a few months.
